Eagles News · NAHS Tennis Coach Named Ohio Tennis Coach of the Year

2017 Ohio Coach of the Year for the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) and the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association (OTCA) is New Albany’s Head Tennis Coach, Marc Thomas.

Coach Thomas is entering is 8th season as head coach of the New Albany Boy’s and Girl’s Tennis programs. Prior to that he was an assistant coach at Pickerington North High School for 5 seasons.

During that time, he has accumulated 338 wins and has coached 26 state qualifiers including 16 All Ohio Selections and the 2012 Girls Ohio State Doubles Champions. He has won 12 OCC Team Titles along with back to back Central District Team Championships earning two trips to the OTCA Boys Final Four, finishing 3rd in the state for 2016 and 2nd in the state in 2017.

In addition to winning this year’s Ohio Coach of the year, he has been selected as OCC Coach of the year 11 times and received the OTCA Sportsmanship Award in 2016.
